Survey finds optimism through industry, strong pay gains, and narrowed gender gap, with off-premise sentiment softening

CHICAGO, Sept. 23, 2025 - Provi, the leading provider of B2B solutions for the beverage alcohol industry, and SevenFifty Daily, an award-winning online magazine about the business and culture of the beverage alcohol space, today announced the release of the 2025 Beverage Industry Career & Salary Report. The fourth edition of the biennial survey draws new insights from more than 1,100 professionals across the industry and offers an in-depth look at compensation, benefits, career outlook, and workforce sentiment in a year marked by tariff disruptions and shifting consumer demand.

The report builds upon the findings of the 2023 edition, capturing how beverage professionals are navigating their careers at a moment of profound change. In addition to tracking salary and benefits benchmarks across the three-tier system, the report reflects how new challenges from the resurgence of tariffs to rollbacks in DEI and sustainability initiatives are reshaping the industry’s workforce.

Among the key findings in the 2025 report:

  • Compensation is rising. Median annual pay increased 7% since 2023, with the largest gains seen in the on-premise and producer tiers.

  • The gender pay gap is narrowing. Women now earn just 5.4% less than men across the industry, well below the national average of 15%.

  • The off-premise tier is under pressure. Median pay remains flat over 2023, and optimism about growth opportunities has declined sharply.

  • Benefits largely align with worker needs. Paid time off and healthcare are widely accessible, though education and training benefits remain limited.

  • Industry optimism endures. Professionals remain confident in the sector’s future, even as fewer express optimism about their own career growth.

“The 2025 survey reflects an industry that continues to adapt in the face of adversity,” said Courtney Schiessl Magrini, Editor-in-Chief of SevenFifty Daily. “We are encouraged to see meaningful progress on compensation and equity, but the data also highlights a clear disconnect between optimism for the industry’s future and confidence in individual career paths. Tariffs, reduced investment in DEI and sustainability, and pressures in the off-premise tier are all contributing factors. Employers that invest in professional development and create stability for their teams will be best positioned to keep talent engaged and ensure the long-term health of the industry.”
